Scientific Name: Copaifera Officinalis.
Copaíba (Copaifera officinalis) is a large tree of the Leguminosae family, commonly found in the midwestern Amazon region, and southeastern Brazil.
Copaíba has proven its effective therapeutic properties in experimental use by much of the native communities in the Amazon, hence it has been spread all over the region. Copaiba oil is an excellent antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, being suitable for outdoor use.
Copaíba oil is obtained from the resin of the Copaifera officinalis tree, originating in South America, through an incision in the trunk. It has skin-healing, anti-inflammatory, antiedematogenic and bactericidal action.
