Meadowsweet, also known as "Queen of the Meadows”, is known to be rich in salicylic acid and was traditionally used and known to be effective for pain relief. Meadowsweet inspired the name of the drug aspirin, from its botanical name Spiraea ulmaria, due to its salicylic acid properties.
