AK ChemTech currently produces a variety of active surface agents, construction chemicals, industrial cleaning agents, inorganic materials, high molecular products and industrial paint. In March 1982, Aekyung Group cooperated with Royal Dutch Shell to establish Aekyung Shell, and in September 1998, changed company name to Aekyung Specialty Chemicals. AK ChemTech was founded by integrating the synthetic surfactants, paint and inorganic materials businesses of Aekyung Group of the chemical, and was incorporated in July 1, 2009. AK ChemTech aspires to develop new business models in the chemical industry leveraging its stable revenue stream, global presence and investments in technology.
